Payment of fees

A deposit of £300 must be paid on enrolment. £50 of this is a non-returnable registration fee. Full fees should be paid at least four weeks before the course start date. When we have processed your application, we will send you confirmation and an invoice. We will send accommodation information as soon as we can, but only after full fees have been received.

Cancellations and refunds

In the case of cancellations received in writing more than four weeks before the course start date, the registration fee (£50) will be charged. For cancellations received less than four weeks before the course start date, £250 will be charged. No refunds can be made after the course has started.

If a visa application is rejected and we receive written evidence at least 15 days prior to arrival, we will refund any fees received in full, less an administrative fee of £50. Where we receive this evidence, the refund (minus bank charges) will be paid to you within four weeks of your providing us with bank details and signed authorisation that the refund should be paid to that account. If written evidence of a visa refusal is received less than 15 days prior to arrival then the refund will be paid less an administrative fee of £200.

Insurance

All students are required to take out insurance against cancellation, as well as comprehensive medical, personal and travel insurance. Please send us the details of the policy and policy number.

Accommodation

For all homestay accommodation the following conditions apply:

Host family accommodation is only available for students studying at BEST in Bath. The school will try to find alternative accommodation for students who have a valid reason for moving.

If a student requests a change for any other reason, a charge of £25 will be made.

Cancellation of accommodation is subject to one week’s notice.

Airport transfers and meeting services

We will do our best to assist you with airport transfers. Flight details should be sent at the time of booking, and transfers and meeting services should be paid for with the tuition fees. There are no refunds possible for services not used by the student. Please be aware that late arrivals and early departures may mean it is necessary to stay in a hotel at the student’s expense.

Limits of Liability

BEST in Bath does its utmost to ensure the safety and well-being of its students. Staff are always ready to respond to any requests for help, or to assist with any difficulties students may have.

Please note, however, that we accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, injury, illness or inconvenience sustained by a student during participation in any activities, whether educational, social, recreational or involving transportation, organised by or associated with BEST in Bath, or while in accommodation arranged by BEST in Bath. This also applies in the case where BEST in Bath acts as an agent, or recommends a third party to provide a service. Any additional expenses that result from a deficiency in the service shall be borne exclusively by the student.

Declaration for students under the age of 18

If the student is under 18 years of age and travelling independently, their parent or legal guardian must sign a declaration that they;

  • have read and understood these terms and conditions;
  • give permission for participation in educational, social and sporting activities;
  • will ensure that the student complies with school rules and curfews;
  • understand that the student will have some unsupervised time every day;
  • will give any necessary medical details at the time of enrolment;
  • agree or refuse that emergency medical treatment can be carried out on the student.
